ABOUT US
Douglas County Bank has served the Douglas County community since the mid-1970s, emphasizing impeccable customer service and up-to-date banking services. It started in Douglas County with local ties, and vows to keep those ties.
Chartered in 1973, Douglas County Bank opened in 1974 on Fairburn Road. In 1979, it introduced the county’s first automated teller machine. DCB now operates 12 ATMs throughout Douglas County. Two additional DCB depository branches were opened in the 1980s: Thornton Road branch in 1984 and the Douglas Boulevard branch in 1989. Renovations on a new Lithia Springs branch began in 2001 as DCB sought to expand its services to that part of the county. The new Lithia Springs branch opened in the old Lithia Springs Post Office on Skyview Drive replacing its Thornton Road depository branch.
The bank moved its main branch down the street in 1993 to its current location at what many Douglas County residents remember as the old Trust Company Bank. Having much emphasis on expanding its financial technologies and make banking more convenient for customers, Douglas County Bank introduced telephone banking in 1996, PC Banking and Check Imaging in 1997, and In House Check Printing in 2000.
Douglas County Bank’s Mortgage Division was formed in 1997 because of customer demand to provide full-service mortgages in a hometown atmosphere. Many customers were not happy to deal with third party lenders for a permanent mortgage. The division began with one mortgage originator and a processor. We currently have seven originators, three processors and a director.
The bank’s insurance division was begun in 2000 to provide DCB customers with full-service financial planning and risk management. Many customers who receive loans at DCB are required to obtain insurance, making the opening of the insurance division a natural outgrowth of providing financial services.
Personal and commercial policies are available through independent agents. A Financial Division opened in December 2001 and provides customers access to stocks, bonds, retirement planning and portfolio review with the help of a skilled financial planner.
Douglas County Bank remains committed to providing quality customer service. In 2001, DCB was proud to receive the Georgia Community Banker’s Association Quality Service Award and was selected as the Georgia Community Bank of the Year.
